CDS-John Blue Company Participating in the "101 Inventions That Changed the World" Exhibit

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

HUNTSVILLE, AL, December 8, 2014 - CDS-John Blue Company is honored to be participating in the "101 Inventions That Changed the World" exhibit currently on display at the US Space and Rocket Center in Huntsville, Alabama (http://rocketcenter.com/11.11.14/101-rocket-city-inventions). Inspired by the traveling exhibit, "101 Inventions That Changed the World," the Center has developed a Huntsville component from a city that sent a man to the moon. "101 Rocket City Inventions" include patents that track the history of a cotton town turned rocket center. The exhibition is designed to reflect Huntsville's robust culture of invention and innovation for products, services and technologies.

Early John Blue farming implementsAs a company that started as a farm implement manufacturer in 1886, CDS-John Blue Company has become a high tech supplier of precision farming equipment worldwide. John Blue's first invention was the cotton stalk cutter, since his primary interest was in designing implements that would make cotton farming easier. In 1886 John and his father, Angus, established a business to repair cotton gin parts and other farm equipment. The need for more efficient methods of distributing fertilizer and cottonseed resulted in the invention of the Rex Guano fertilizer distributor and the John Blue Cotton Planter, both revolutionized farming. The business grew with the manufacturing of implements and included a foundry for the casting of metal parts.

Today, more than 125 years later, CDS-John Blue Company continues the tradition of being an award-winning leader and pioneer of new precision agricultural equipment. We are constantly adding to our wide range of liquid fertilizer pumps and accessories. Just recently we introduced the Electronic Liquid Blockage Monitor (LBMS). LBMS was awarded the AE50 Award from The American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers (ASABE) as one of this year's most innovative designs in engineering products or systems for the food and agricultural industries.

CDS-John Blue Company is proud to be participating in such a highly acclaimed exhibition, "101 Inventions That Changed the World". Our products will be featured with the likes of Inventor William Lafayette Quick, who designed an airplane around the same time as the Wright Brothers, Dr. Wernher von Braun, and many more.
